FIVE SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIES

Sustainable construction technologies refer to mechanisms that lessen the energy consumption.

Solar Panels: The “ideal” solution to your roof which can decrease your energy bill drastically in the long run. They are also cheaper to install now than they were in the past.

Water efficient technologies: There are several water efficient technologies used to ensure that water is adequately managed, recycled and used for non-portable purposes like washing cars and gardening. They include harvesting rainwater, grey water re-use, water conservation fixtures, dual flush toilet system as well as motion sensor toilets and urinals.

Smart appliances: Commercial and home buildings consume most of the world’s energy and thus making smart appliances a necessity like smart grid dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators, sensor led bulbs.

Green roofs: They aim at reflecting heat and sunlight away keeping the building and homes at a standard temperature by lowering heat absorption and heat emittance.

Green insulation: This is a green construction technology which eliminates need for expensive heating and cooling systems and is a useful resource for lining walls inside as it is made from newspaper and fabric.
